Ducati overcomes 1 billion euros revenue for the first time in its history

Ducati closes a year full of successes posting record figures for sales, revenue and operating profit that add to the exceptional triumphs achieved by Ducati in the racing world, which has seen the Bologna-based motorcycle manufacturer win all titles in MotoGP and WorldSBK.

For the first time in its history, Ducati's revenue overcame 1 billion euros figure (1,089 million euros), marking an increase of 24 percent over 2021 (878 million euros), thanks to an attractive product portfolio that resulted in higher volumes in sales. Operating profit is also remarkable with a record 109 million euros, corresponding to a massive growth of 77 percent compared to 2021 (61 million euros). As a result, the profitability level also increased reaching a double-digit margin of 10 percent.

2022 was also exceptional in terms of commercial results. Ducati closed the year with a record of 61,562 motorcycles delivered to enthusiasts around the world, scoring a 3.6 percent growth over 2021.

Claudio Domenicali, CEO Ducati: “For the first time in our history, we passed the 60,000-bikes mark and we overtook 1 billion euros in revenue. This establishes 2022 as the best year ever for Ducati in several aspects, starting from the great sales and financial performance to the successes in MotoGP and WorldSBK. We are on a positive trend that in the last years has seen Ducati grow and establish itself as an increasingly solid company. As a brand that is an expression of Made in Italy, innovation, design and technology, we keep our focus on delivering exciting experiences on and off motorcycles to passionate Ducatisti all over the world.”

Henning Jens, CFO Ducati: “I am glad that for the second year in a row we are able to announce a record financial performance and a growth in the profitability level for Ducati. Reaching such results despite the supply chain disruption that has heavily affected the automotive sector during the course of 2022 is a remarkable achievement of the whole Ducati Group. We were also able to pursue the self-financed investments plan in R&D, infrastructures and digitalization that was in our agenda for 2022.”

The Sales network continued to grow over the past year, getting closer to Ducatisti around the world. At the end of 2022, there are 821 Ducati dealerships, the highest number ever, which, with the addition of the new markets Brunei, Ecuador, El Salvador and Mongolia, represent Ducati in as many as 96 markets.

For 2023, Ducati has presented to the public eight new models to complete its wide range, able to offer all Ducatisti the most suitable bike to express their passion for two wheels.

Among the most awaited models there are certainly the Multistrada V4 Rally, the bike for great travelers and the new Diavel V4, the model that won the “Most Beautiful Bike of the Show” award at EICMA. Also the brand new second generation of Scrambler Ducati, which confirms the simplicity and authenticity that have always represented essential values for all Scrambler Ducati enthusiasts, and becomes more contemporary, colorful and endowed with an even more lively personality.

Starting from 2023 and until 2026, Ducati will be the sole supplier of motorcycles for the FIM Enel MotoE™ World Championship, which officially begins on May 13, 2023 at the French Grand Prix. With this project, Ducati is thoroughly studying the technologies for the future of the world of motorcycling, investing and experimenting to build expertise to be ready when battery technology should allow the creation of an exciting electric road bike with the weight, performance and range that enthusiasts expect from a Ducati.

In December 2022, Ducati opened the new “Finitura e Delibera Estetica” manufacturing that will host the last phase of the production cycle, which consists of the final dressing of the bikes carried out by Ducati with a sartorial approach and meticulous attention to detail. The new building is the result of a significant infrastructure investment completely self-financed. Investments in the headquarters’ infrastructure will continue also in the course of next years.

Production of the new Ducati Scrambler begins

Production of the new Ducati Scrambler, already featured in the seventh episode of the Ducati World Premiere 2023, has begun in the Borgo Panigale plant. A new Ducati Scrambler completely renovated in style and concepts, that maintains the spirit and the original energy that have made this family a worldwide success for over 100,000 enthusiasts. An unmistakable, dynamic, accessible and safe motorcycle for everyday use, with a new captivating and modern design, dedicated to those seeking freedom and wishing to express their lifestyle through their choices.

The production of the first unit was celebrated in the new Finitura e Delibera Estetica building with an event in perfect Ducati Scrambler style. After the traditional “christening” by CEO Claudio Domenicali, the ceremony was in fact transformed into a party animated by music in which all the employees were able to admire all nine colours of the new Ducati Scrambler as a preview.

The customization possibilities, which has always been a distinctive element of the Ducati Scrambler, goes even further with this second generation thanks to the new Icon tank. The coloured portion is a cover that can be easily replaced, as can the mudguards, rim tags and headlamp covers. Thus the look of the Ducati Scrambler can adapt to all tastes with great ease. The three basic colours ('62 Yellow, Thrilling Black and Ducati Red) are joined by another six (Storm Green, Rio Celeste, Tangerine Orange, Jade Green, Sparkling Blue, Velvet Red), available as an accessory kit, to dress up the new Ducati Scrambler Icon in nine different liveries.

Thanks to a weight reduction of 4 kg, the new Ride-by-Wire and the Quick Shift accessory, the Ducati Scrambler offers a more brilliant ride. And it is also safer, more modern, digital and technological thanks to Riding Modes, Ducati Traction Control and the new colour TFT dashboard. All this without betraying that simplicity and authenticity that have always represented essential values for all Ducati Scrambler enthusiasts. Air-cooled Desmodue twin-cylinder engine, trellis frame, wide handlebars, low centre of gravity and fun to ride remain essential features also for the new generation of Ducati Scrambler.

The result of this recipe is three new Ducati Scramblers: Icon, Full Throttle and Nightshift. Three bikes with a different imprint, united by a relaxed riding position and low weight, to offer enthusiasts of all experience and abilities great riding pleasure, both in urban journeys and on trips out of town.

The presentation video of the new Ducati Scrambler models and all the original content for the “Land of Joy” can be viewed on the Ducati YouTube channel and in the dedicated “Scrambler Media Box” section on the scramblerducati.com website.

The complete press kit of the new generation Ducati Scrambler containing further information and all the images is available on Ducati Media House.

The items proposed in the clothing line are conceived and designed to make the experience riding the Borgo Panigale bikes even more pleasant. The Ducati 2023 clothing collection sees an exclusive and refined design, the result of the collaboration between Aldo Drudi and the Centro Stile Ducati, combine with the know-how of industry sector leaders, involved in technical design.

A reference to the three shades of red present on the MotoGP livery giving uniformity to the entire collection, which has always been ideal for those in search of an energetic and dynamic style, directly from the tracks.

The protagonist of the Sport line is the Fighter C2 jacket. The balance between soft cowhide and stretch technical fabric gives comfort and lightness to this garment exclusively designed by Dainese for Ducati, intended for sporty riding but also excellent in more urban situations.

For long-distance travellers who ride motorbikes in all weather conditions, the Touring collection has renewed the Strada C5 outfit, now enhanced with new modular solutions, such as the possibility of becoming warm or ventilated to better adapt to the outside temperatures. Available in both men's and women's fittings, the Strada C5 outfit recalls the colours of the new Multistrada V4 Rally, for perfect integration between bike and motorcyclist.

Finally, the Sportswear line is dedicated to all those who want to live their passion for the Borgo Panigale manufacturer not only on two wheels but also in their everyday life, a timeless collection of clothing and accessories branded Ducati and Ducati Corse and suitable for any occasion. Ducati Diavel V4 is the “Most Beautiful Bike” at EICMA 2022

The Ducati Diavel V4 won the title of “Moto più bella” (“Most Beautiful Motorcycle”) at EICMA 2022. Deciding the verdict was the audience of the International Bicycle, Motorcycle and Accessory Exhibition, which over the four opening days crowded the pavilions of the Fiera di Milano-Rho and voted either directly from the show or online.

The “Vota e vinci la moto più bella del Salone” contest, which has been organized since 2005 by the Italian magazine Motociclismo in cooperation with EICMA, sees this year's eleventh win for Ducati. The Diavel V4 took first place with 36.8 percent of the votes out of the approximately 23,000 fans, including visitors to the Fair and users of the Motociclismo website, who expressed their preference.

The announcement of the Ducati Diavel V4's victory came on Sunday, November 13, the final day of the Fair, followed by the official award ceremony at the “Motociclismo” booth. Collecting the prestigious award for the Bologna company was Andrea Amato, Chief Motorcycle Designer of the Ducati Centro Stile.

The awarding was the last act of an intense week of exhibitions and events that saw a number of visitors close to pre-pandemic numbers, a value that confirms the strong recovery of the Milanese event.

Since the opening day of the show, the public has flocked to the Ducati stand in which the Borgo Panigale company displayed the new products presented during the 2023 World Première. The new Diavel V4 represents the perfect synthesis between a maxi sport naked and a muscle cruiser. It is as powerful in design as it is effective in riding and showed the EICMA 2022 audience all its personality, winning the prestigious award.

At the heart of Ducati's booth was the “Next Gen Freedom” Ducati Scrambler, featuring the three models Icon, Full Throttle and Nightshift. Adventure lovers could admire the new Multistrada V4 Rally and the DesertX in the new “RR22” livery, inspired by that of the Audi RS Q e-tron. Also present at the Ducati Stand were the new Panigale V4 R, the spearhead of the Bolognese supersport family with its 240.5 hp, and the new Streetfighter V2 in Storm Green livery, V4 S in Grey Nero coloring, and V4 SP2, the family's top-of-the-line model, produced in a numbered series. Finally, the Monster SP, which completes the Ducati range, and the new Futa AXS e-Bike.

Also on display at EICMA was the V21L prototype, the bike with which the Bologna-based manufacturer will participate from next year in the FIM MotoE™ World Cup as sole supplier. For the Bologna-based company, this bike represents an exciting technological challenge to write a new, exciting chapter in Ducati's great racing history and redefine the future of electric mobility on two wheels.

Admired by the entire EICMA audience were the two 2022 World Champion motorcycles: the DesmosediciGP on which Pecco Bagnaia won the title in Valencia and Alvaro Bautista's Panigale V4 R, which won the World Superbike Championship with its two podiums in Mandalika. In the opening days of the show, fans flocked to photograph the two queens of motorcycling whose successes added to that won by the Diavel V4 in an unforgettable week for the Bologna-based manufacturer.

“Passion. Design. Technology. Made in Italy”: Ducati celebrates its values at EICMA fair with Francesco Bagnaia and Enea Bastianini

World Champion Francesco Bagnaia, his new team-mate Enea Bastianini (third in the final standings of the 2022 MotoGP season), “Pecco's” Desmosedici GP22 arrived directly from Valencia, and all the products of the new Ducati range. With these extraordinary ingredients, the Bologna-based manufacturer created the evening event titled “Passion. Design. Technology. Made in Italy.”.

An extraordinary opportunity in a fascinating location, which allowed Ducati to celebrate the magical combination of beauty and technology that makes the company unique in the world, to celebrate the MotoGP Triple Crown and to experience the pleasure of sharing and being together in full Italian style. The event was attended by several guests including institutions, sponsors, partners, licensees and influencers.

The event in Milan represented Francesco Bagnaia's first public appearance as MotoGP World Champion, but also the perfect moment to officially welcome Enea Bastianini to the Ducati Lenovo Team. The event was moderated by the Italian voice of MotoGP par excellence Guido Meda, who after recounting race by race this incredible season, retraced its highlights and then commented on them together with Bagnaia, Bastianini, Ducati Lenovo Team Manager Davide Tardozzi and official tester Michele Pirro.

Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali also took to the stage to celebrate this “golden season” that has seen the conquest of the Riders' Title, Constructors' Title and Team Title. A triumph Made in Italy that is part of an extremely positive moment for the company and reflects its values of “Style, Sophistication and Performance”.
Precisely in line with these values were the two live performances that enriched the event: the musical virtuosity of violinist Saule Kilaite and the flair of italian artist Vincenzo Mascoli, who created a special work of art for Bagnaia using his collage technique, which was then given to the newly-crowned MotoGP World Champion.

From today until Sunday 13 November the 79th edition of EICMA fair opens its doors to the public and Ducati is ready to welcome all fans to Hall 15, stand N10. Awaiting them is the Desmosedici GP with which Bagnaia brought the MotoGP World Riders' Title back to Borgo Panigale after 15 years, on whose fairings the signs of the battle in the last race at Valencia are clearly visible. On display alongside the MotoGP is the Panigale V4 R of Alvaro Bautista, who this weekend will stake his chances of also becoming World Champion in WorldSBK, and also the “V21L” prototype, the electric bike with which the Bologna-based manufacturer will participate in next year's FIM MotoE™ World Cup as sole supplier.

The Ducati riders are among the protagonists of the fair, through meetings with the thousands of fans expected at EICMA 2022. On Thursday 10 November it was Ducati Lenovo Team riders Francesco Bagnaia and Enea Bastianini who inaugurated the 'Meet&Greet' sessions, while on Friday 11 November at the stand there will be Luca Marini and Marco Bezzecchi of the Ducati Mooney VR46 Team, whose meeting with fans is scheduled at 3.20 pm.

Together with the motorbikes of the Ducati Corse world, the Bologna-based manufacturer will of course have all the novelties of the 2023 range on display at EICMA 2022. The heart of the stand is the explosion of colours of the “Next Gen Freedom” Ducati Scrambler, with the three models Icon, Full Throttle and Nightshift. Plenty of space also for adventure lovers with the new Multistrada V4 Rally, capable of satisfying even the most demanding motorcyclist discovering new roads alone or in couple, and with the DesertX in the new RR22 livery, inspired by that of the Audi RS Q e-tron that took part in the last Dakar. The new Panigale V4 R, with its 16,500 rpm and 240.5 hp* and its technical solutions never seen before in series production, such as the “gun drilled” connecting rods and pistons with DLC treatment, is the spearhead of Ducati's supersport family.
The new Ducati Streetfighter feature the V2 model in Storm Green livery, the V4 S in “Grey Nero” colour scheme and the new V4 SP2 in a numbered series. With its refined styling and muscular and elegant lines, the new Diavel V4 shows all the strong personality that emerged in the sixth episode of the Ducati World Premiere 2022. Last but not least, the Monster SP, which, thanks to its excellent components, is ready to offer maximum fun and completes the Monster range.

The Monster SP, thanks to its excellent components, is ready to offer the maximum fun and completes the Monster range.

The Ducati stand could not do without the World Champion bike, the DesmosediciGP with which Francesco “Pecco” Bagnaia won the title last Sunday in Valencia, straight from the last MotoGP round. Next is the Panigale V4 R on which Alvaro Bautista is ready to play his first “match point” in Indonesia next weekend. Champions of the world! Made in Italy passion and technology conquer MotoGP

Today, November 6, 2022, Francesco Bagnaia and his Ducati Desmosedici GP22 write a page that will remain in the history of motorcycling, winning the 2022 MotoGP World Riders' Title.

For the first time in the history of MotoGP rider and bike from the same nation win the World Title.

A magical combination possible only in Italy: the expertise and technology of the fastest bike in the world – the Desmosedici GP22 – the passion, talent and determination of Francesco Bagnaia, who won the title after an historic comeback, never before achieved by any other rider in the premier class. A red tide of Ducatisti who suffered and rejoiced throughout the championship. This is today's victory.

A racing story that is unrepeatable anywhere else on the planet that starts in Borgo Panigale, in the heart of the Motor Valley of Emilia-Romagna with its technology and innovation, and meets Turin, Francesco Bagnaia's hometown, until arriving in Pesaro, where Pecco lives and has experienced consecration as a world-class rider.

For Ducati, the only non-Japanese brand capable of winning a World Championship in MotoGP, this is the second Riders' World Title, after the one won by Casey Stoner in 2007.

A success that comes at an extremely positive moment for the Company from all points of view and that, never before, best expresses the values of “Style, Sophistication and Performance” that characterize it.

Claudio Domenicali, Ducati CEO: “This is a fantastic day for all of Ducati! Ducati Corse has worked steadfastly and resolutely to achieve this second MotoGP Riders' Title that makes our hearts burst with joy today. Racing is so tied to the passion of Ducatisti and my path in Ducati is also so tied to racing that I am really extremely happy today. First of all, I want to congratulate Pecco, who had an incredible season, in which he had the great merit of always believing, even when the comeback seemed impossible. Thanks to the “three musketeers” Gigi, Paolo, Davide and all the women and men of Ducati Corse and Ducati Lenovo Team, who worked on this incredible bike and also to the employees who work in Borgo Panigale and make emotions like these possible. The World Title is for them and for all Ducatisti. It has been a long chase but today the team is as strong as it has ever been and this result is extremely important to take the pressure off and be more focused than ever to do well in the future. I really believe it can be the opening of a very positive path for Ducati.”

At the checkered flag, Bagnaia's triumph was greeted with incredible enthusiasm inside the Ducati Lenovo Team box, on the Ducati Grandstand at the Valencia circuit and also in Borgo Panigale, where Ducati employees shared first the tension and then the joy, living this last race with their eyes glued to a big screen set up in the Company.

For Ducati, it is now time to celebrate the Triple Crown together with Ducatisti and the entire city of Bologna. The appointment, already set in the calendar, is for next December 15 when all the protagonists will celebrate this fantastic result together. More updates on the event will follow in the coming weeks.
